The NSW SES Grafton City, Maclean and Woodburn Units will be better equipped to respond to medical emergencies with new life-saving defibrillators as part of their kits.
Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis presented all three NSW SES Units with defibrillators, along with Evans Head Marine Rescue and the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.
Defibrillators help to get the heart pumping normally again when someone goes into cardiac arrest. The device delivers a dose of electric current, often called a counter-shock.
NSW SES Northern Zone Deputy Commander Mark Somers said that the new machines will come in handy.
"We welcome this injection of life-saving equipment which will assist our members to support their communities," said Mr Somers.
