In light of the recent COVID restrictions and concerns, Kennards Hire Presents Light Up Orange, is announcing a reduction in ticket numbers available to the event, and the introduction of a live broadcast starting at 8:30 on YouTube, meaning everyone can witness Orange's first big laser show being held at Wade Park.
While those attending the event in person can enjoy the full sensory experience, those unable to attend the event will have the opportunity to view the light show from the comfort of their homes.
"Kennards Hire, Orange City Council and Newcrest Mining in particular were keen to see this happen so the whole community had the opportunity to take part in the event," organiser Craig McMahon said.
"Many of those in our community don't have the ability to attend the event in person. They may be incapacitated, in hospital or nursing homes, or they just don't feel comfortable attending public gatherings rightnow. The live broadcast won't be the same as attending the actual event, but it's better than missing out altogether."
The live broadcast will be captured with multiple cameras as well as a camera drone, giving those who are unable to make the event a different perspective of the laser show.
EyeTrix Productions will be taking part in the set-up and live broadcasting of the event, giving everyone a chance to tune in and witness the spectacle in a unique way no matter where you are.
EyeTrix commended organisers for thinking of new ways to include the community in the event, especially during a time where many may not feel comfortable, or may be unable, to celebrate in person.
"Because of all that's happened in 2020, I think it's really important to be able to come together, but unfortunately that's not possible for everyone," said Troy Pearson of Eyetrix, "so live streaming gives everyone the chance to experience the big night and celebrate along with the rest of Orange."
Evan Zell, a renowned cinematographer whose work has taken him across Australia will be working with EyeTrix's Troy Pearson to capture the special occasion live in all its glory for those who can't make the event in person.
"I think it's great that the Orange Council are taking up the initiative to have the event live streamed. COVID has definitely changed the market and it's great to see that they are looking at new ways to get people involved," Evan said.
Ticket numbers have also been reduced from 4,000 people to 3,000 people to further assist in the health and safety of the community.
The Light Up Orange Live Broadcast will be aired on YouTube, Thursday 31 December at 8:30pm with links provided on Facebook and Instagram.
