A Queensland woman's routine morning commute transformed into an unforgettable joyride after she learned about her huge win in last week's lotto draw.
The Redland City local from Victoria Point held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4448, drawn Friday 27 September 2024 and looks forward to a neat $1 million.
“Oh my god! That’s amazing!” the winning woman cheered when a lotto official revealed her prize.
“Wow! Just wow!
“I’m on my way to work and need to pull over for a moment – I’m completely amazed.
“My husband and I dabble in a variety of lottery games from time to time and Weekday Windfall is one of our favourites.
“We’ve always liked the idea of becoming an overnight millionaire. Now we can say it happened to us!
“I can’t wait to call and tell him. This is going to change our life.”
With $1 million set to change her life, the winning woman shared she planned to share the love with her children and help them get ahead.
“We will be able to help our kids get into the property market and get ahead.
“I’d also like to do a few renovations at our place.”
Her winning QuickPick 12-game entry was purchased at Victoria Point Newsagency, 4/149 Pelican’s Nest Shopping Centre, 149 Colburn Avenue, Victoria Point.
Victoria Point Newsagency manager Dennis Tang shared he was in shock when he discovered his outlet had sold a division one winning ticket worth $1 million.
“We feel so grateful to have sold our first division one winning ticket,” he said.
“We’ve put up signs and balloons to share this incredible win with our local community.
“We hope we can welcome another division one win soon and wish our lucky winner all the best!”
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4448 on Friday 27 September 2024 were 36, 1, 24, 35, 18 and 10 while the supplementary numbers were 44 and 20.
