Lime is thrilled to announce its selection as shared e-scooter provider for both Auckland and Christchurch. Since Lime's launch in New Zealand in 2018 Lime riders have taken more than 15 million trips on the shared e-scooters or e-bikes.

Lime's Senior Director of Government Relations APAC William Peters said they are grateful for the opportunity to keep Auckland and Christchurch moving for years to come.

"We are proud to have never wavered in our service here. We feel this selection reflects the work we've done with the cities and with our partners in the community," William said.

"We want to show how e-scooters continue to contribute to New Zealand's vibrant economy and help meet its climate and transportation goals.

"As we keep working towards continual improvement of our service to the residents and visitors of New Zealand, we maintain our focus on safe riding and proper parking.

"Riders use our e-scooters to commute to work, meetings, continue their public transport journey, and get to the city. We are also a huge part of the tourism transport solution for those looking to get from one attraction in a timely manner."

Lime is dedicated to being green in every sense. Since the 2018 launch, it has successfully omitted over 3.7 million car trips, resulting in more than 1,250 tonnes of CO2 removal and almost 550,000 litres of fuel consumption.

Something new and shiny is also in the works at Lime. The LimeGlider and LimeBike are currently in pilot mode, with roll-out plans underway. Lime's two new seated vehicles are designed to appeal to a wider riding audience featuring a lower centre of gravity and a step-through frame for easier mounting as well as increased cargo capacity and upgraded on-board technology.

Lime emphasised integrating feedback from underrepresented users including women, older adults, and those with varying abilities with LimeBike and LimeGlider intended to be Lime's most inclusive rides to date.

Lime is proud to have the opportunity to continue to service the Christchurch and Auckland communities for the foreseeable future with their world-leading vehicles and locally based operations.
