Council is set to investigate the possibility of creating a fenced off-leash dog area in Linear Park Mascot following a resolution at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 22 May.
Situated near the Mascot railway station precinct Linear Park is owned by Sydney Water.
It is a narrow, long green park that provides important outdoor recreation space for the community living in a high-density area.
Council will write to Sydney Water seeking approval for a fenced off dog area.
Council is also aware of the history of the site and will conduct a comprehensive examination of all the issues before making any decision on the establishment of an off-leash dog park in the area.
