Linked Burglaries In North Melbourne And Moonee Ponds

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating two burglaries, believed to be linked, in North Melbourne and Moonee Ponds on 31 December and 1 January, 2025.

It is believed a stolen white Kia Sportage station-wagon entered an apartment complex carpark on Haines Street, North Melbourne with the driver using a stolen fob on 31 December about 11.15pm. Entry was then gained to an apartment using stolen keys. Nothing was stolen during this incident and two male offenders drove away in the Sportage.

Officers were told an apartment on Lethbridge Street, Moonee Ponds was burgled after offenders gained access using stolen keys on 1 January about 12.30am.

Personal items including a black gym bag, a board-game and a jewellery box containing up to $10,000 worth of highly sentimental jewellery was stolen.

Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of two men whom they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
