Northern Territory Police have served a notice of suspension on a licenced premises located on Todd Street in Alice Springs today.
Acting Commander Mark Grieve said, "After extensive investigations into the responsible service of alcohol, police are satisfied that the actions of this licensee constitute an ongoing threat to public safety in the area.
"Under section 258 of the Liquor Act 2019, police have suspended their licence for a period of 48 hours.
At the conclusion of the 48-hour period, trade under the licence is permitted again, however investigations by police will continue.
"Alcohol related harm is a catalyst for a huge range of issues facing our community, predominantly affecting our most vulnerable. Domestic violence, property crime, road incidents and antisocial behaviour are all often symptoms of this wide ranging problem.
"The responsible service of alcohol is a legal requirement and police will hold businesses to account."
