Liquor seized in Adelaide River

Northern Territory Police have seized a large quantity of liquor near Adelaide River.

Around 3:30pm yesterday, police received information about a vehicle transporting liquor to Wadeye community after it was purchased from a licensed premises on Darwin's outskirts.

The vehicle was observed by police on Stuart Highway, Adelaide River. Police conducted a traffic apprehension on the vehicle and observed a child climbing from the cargo area.

Police searched the vehicle and located 22 bottles of spirits and a 30 pack of beer. The liquor was seized and destroyed.

The 43-year-old female driver was issued an infringement notice for drive with child unrestrained.

The driver and a 39-year-old male passenger were issued infringement notices for bringing liquor into alcohol protected area.
