Join in for Clean Up Australia Day 2025 Shellharbour City Council is inviting the community to come together and make a difference this Clean Up Australia Day. Every year, Clean Up Australia Day inspires people across the country to act and care for their local environment. It's a great chance to tidy up parks, waterways, beaches, and streets, keeping our community beautiful and litter free.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer is encouraging everyone to do their part. "Clean Up Australia Day is a fantastic way to come together, do something good for the environment, and meet some like-minded people," Mayor Homer said.
"Spending just for a few hours picking up rubbish can make a huge difference. If we all do a little bit, we can keep Shellharbour looking great for years to come."
Businesses are encouraged to get involved on Tuesday February 25, while schools can take part on Friday February 28. The community clean-up event will take place on Sunday March 2.
Getting involved is easy. Registration is free and volunteers will receive a Clean Up kit with bags, gloves, and other handy supplies.
Packs are available for individuals, families, and community groups. Businesses can also join in for a small fee to cover clean up materials. Shellharbour City Council is also supporting local volunteers. Volunteers who participate in a registered community clean up event listed on the Clean Up Australia Day website within the Shellharbour area will go into the draw to win one of three $50 Bunnings vouchers.
