Yesterday, Live4Life Central Goldfields hosted their annual Live4Life Central Goldfields Crew launch, inducting five new members and welcoming back two from last year's Crew.

The Live4Life model is about improving the mental health of young people and Crew are a key component in spreading positive mental health messaging and raising mental health awareness.

The seven inspirational Year 9 Crew members Ella, Connor, Felicity, Kadyn, Georgina, Ryan and Matilda, delivered an engaging presentation to year 8 students and Highview teaching staff.

Crew introduced the Live4Life model including Teen Mental Health First Aid which will be delivered to all Year 8 and 10 students at Highview College and Youth Mental Health First Aid which is delivered to teachers and community members.

Crew also unveiled their mental health theme and poster featuring this year's theme - "If you're feeling sorrow, look for a better tomorrow". Crew chose this message to remind everyone that difficult times don't last forever and that no matter how hard things can feel, you never know what's around the corner – it could just be a brighter, better tomorrow.

The tagline, "If in doubt, seek it out", let's people know that they don't have to be alone in what they're experiencing and that they can seek out the help of a friend, a trusted adult or a professional.

The poster design is two hands in a circle reaching out to one another to signify the importance of reaching out for support. The path highlights that there is a path to a better tomorrow even if you can't see it, and the bright colours chosen for the poster signify hope.

The Crew launch was supported by Anglicare KiT Van, Maryborough District Health Service and the Central Goldfields Shire Youth team who all delivered a range of fun and educational activities.

Live4Life Central Goldfields looks forward to seeing the 2025 Life4Life Central Goldfields crew grow their mental health knowledge and build their mental health awareness raising skills.
