Liverpool residents now have access to free, walk-in mental health care, with the official launch of Liverpool Head to Health today.
Liverpool Head to Health - located at 203 Northumberland Street, Liverpool, and operated by Neami National - offers mental health information, services and support for adults with moderate to severe mental health needs.
Services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychologists, mental health nurses, peer workers and Aboriginal liaison officers.
Anyone can access this new service by visiting the centre or making a free call to Head to Health on 1800 595 212 from 8:30am to 5pm, weekdays. No appointment or GP referral is needed.
Funded by the Australian Government, Liverpool Head to Health builds on the national network of Head to Health services.
The new clinic replaces temporary Head to Health pop up clinics in Liverpool and Bankstown, which were established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interpreting services are also available through the Australian Government's recent investment in Translating and Interpreting Services.
Quotes attributable to Assistant Minister, Emma McBride:
"All Australians, deserve access to quality and affordable mental health care and support.
"The Head to Health pop up clinics in Liverpool and Bankstown have already supported hundreds of people since they opened at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This shows how valued those services are.
"I'm pleased that this Australian Government investment will mean people in the Liverpool region continue to have access to free, professional mental health support close to home."
