The Liverpool Literary Festival returns this autumn (Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October) featuring the Sunday Times Number One best-selling author Adele Parks MBE.
Now in its ninth year, this well-established festival will include a conversation with the best-selling author as well as local talent, poetry, drama, discussion and much more.
Festival Director Professor Greg Lynall, Head of English at the University of Liverpool said: "I'm delighted to be welcoming everyone to campus for the Liverpool Literary Festival once again. It's my second year as Festival Director and we've got an incredibly exciting and eclectic line-up of authors for all to enjoy.
"It's fantastic that Adele is speaking at the festival again this year and we're really pleased that she'll be joining us in Liverpool to discuss her latest book and literary journey."
Adele Parks, who has sold more than five million UK editions of her 24 novels, translated into 31 different languages, is returning to the Liverpool Literary Festival, following her first visit to Liverpool in 2022.
This year (Saturday 5 October at 5.30pm) Adele will be discussing her latest publication First Wife's Shadow, which was released last month to critical acclaim, in what promises to be an amusing and insightful discussion with her husband, Jim.
Described by Louise Candlish as a "Devious and dizzying, with twist after twist after twist," First Wife's Shadow is a must-read, suspenseful psychological thriller.
Since her last appearance at the Liverpool Literary Festival, Adele's novel The Image of You has been released as a film and she has several other titles optioned and in development including One Last Secret and First Wife's Shadow.
In the New Years Honours list 2022, Adele was awarded an MBE for services to Literature. She is also an ambassador for literacy charities the National Literacy Trust and The Reading Agency, two charities promoting literacy in the UK.
Adele said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be returning to the Liverpool Literary Festival again - Liverpool is a beautiful city, full of heart, humour and passion and the Literary Festival is a fantastic reflection of that creativity.
"I'll look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 5th October at 5.30pm. I'll talk about my latest novel and everything I've been up to over the past few years. My husband will be interviewing me, which he always jokes is cheaper than couples therapy and it certainly gives my audience a unique sneak peek behind the curtains of what it's like to live with me. We'll have a lot of fun, but I'll also give serious insight into the life of a writer."
This year, the Literary Festival also has a new home, the University of Liverpool's Eleanor Rathbone Building, bringing the festival right to the heart of campus.
Following on from the success of the past two years, festivalgoers can buy VIP passes for the whole weekend or just for one day, to make the most of everything the festival has to offer.
Waterstones, the Festival's book-selling partner, will also be facilitating book signings after each event.
