The Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG) will host its Quality Assurance, Integrated Safety Management, and Contractor Assurance System (QA/ISM/CAS) Communities of Practice Meeting at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) from March 31 to April 3.

This event will bring together professionals from across the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) complex to promote best practices, lessons learned and innovative approaches to safety management and operational excellence, said Charles Slama, Strategic Deterrence associate deputy director for operations.

"The EFCOG Safety Working Group meeting promises to be a key opportunity for collaboration and knowledge-sharing to advance safety, quality and operational excellence across the DOE and NNSA complex," Slama said. "It's also an invaluable chance to network with peers and strengthen partnerships across the DOE ad NNSA complex."

EFCOG, representing over 135 member companies, was created to address common challenges and improve operations across the DOE complex. By fostering collaboration between contractors and DOE/NNSA leadership, EFCOG has helped achieve mission milestones while prioritizing workforce safety and operational excellence.

The Spring 2025 meeting will feature breakout sessions on topics such as contractor assurance systems, quality assurance policies, safety culture, software quality assurance, procurement engineering, supply chain quality and human performance improvement. Attendees may also tour LLNL's National Ignition Facility depending on availability.
