"I am very pleased that LMU has been able to gain another strategic partnership with a highly renowned university by partnering with Stellenbosch University," says Professor Bernd Huber, LMU President. "The cooperation marks an important milestone in LMU's internationalization strategy and opens up exciting new opportunities for our scholars."

The new partnership with Stellenbosch University - one of Africa's best and most research-intensive universities - offers LMU faculty and researchers excellent joint research opportunities and new scientific perspectives on the African continent.

The deadline for applying for the first funding round is 10 June 2025. A further call for applications for 2026 is planned to take place in autumn 2025.
