Work to restore Lobethal Bushland Park to its former state has received a financial boost thanks to $150,000 for the Australian and South Australian government's bushfire Local Economic Recovery program, matched by funding from the State Emergency Relief Fund's SA Bushfire Appeal, and Adelaide Hills Council.
Lobethal Bushland Park, which includes a large Heritage Area of natural bushland, was impacted by the Cudlee Creek Bushfire in December 2019, with 95% of all vegetation burnt, and all of the play area, picnic and trail infrastructure heavily damaged or entirely destroyed.
Restoration of this valued space is considered a significant part of the local community's ongoing recovery, and these funds will help Council to achieve renewed and upgraded facilities for residents and visitors.
