The Southern Highlands is a mecca for talented creatives and now is the time for local artists, sculptors, photographers and potters, to say yes to being part of our increasingly popular Ars Trail this November. It's an opportunity to exhibit, make sales, and engage a wide audience of art lovers with your work.
An experience that attracts visitors from far and wide, Arts Trail is set for the weekends of November 4th-5th and 11th-12th. The event's unique appeal lies in the opportunity to meet our extraordinary local artists and really immerse in their creative world by watching them work and talking with them about their process and inspiration.
Arts Trail plays a part in professional development for local industry. Together with our proud, Arts Trail 2023 partner, Southern Tablelands Arts (STA), Council will run workshops on social media, website design and more. "To support artists, we are rolling out a program of these professional development workshops, opportunities and promotional platforms," said STA Executive Director Rose Marin, "These will be tailored for creatives to get involved and make the most out of their Arts Trail experience."
The Southern Highlands Arts Trail is listed on the Creative South cultural experience website as an annual festival, alongside the permanent gallery listings that promote visits to local galleries throughout the year. Click here for details.
What sets the Arts Trail apart is that it offers one-off, bespoke experiences that connect visitors to our region with local creatives. As such, art galleries won't be included in the Arts Trail experience, as they are open year-round.
They will, however, continue to be actively promoted to visitors and are currently enjoying exposure via the Southern Highlands' destination campaign, Winter's Wonderful, which promotes the many must-do winter experience to be found here in our region.
Megan Monte, Director of Ngununggula will be on this year's curatorial panel for the Arts Trail, along with Rose Marin, Executive Director Southern Tablelands Arts and representatives from Destination Southern Highlands and Wingecarribee Shire Council.
Don't miss out on reaching a wider audience with your work! Applications are open now and close on July 17, 2023. Arts Trail 2023 artists will be announced in late August.
