Moira Shire Council is proud to announce the launch of a Business Resilience Program with a business networking breakfast in Numurkah on Tuesday 18 February.
The breakfast will feature guest speaker Dr. Kate Burke, an experienced independent farm consultant and the founder of Think Agri Pty Ltd. With more than 26 years in the agricultural industry, Dr Burke is renowned for her expertise in strategic advice for both investors and farm businesses.
The Business Resilience Breakfast offers an opportunity for local business owners and industry professionals to connect, learn, and gain practical insights on improving business resilience and learn about the program to be delivered by Dr Burke.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the program would support businesses to feel confident they would be prepared for an emergency event.
"Emergency preparedness is crucial for our community. It's essential to recognise that emergencies extend beyond natural disasters and include any unforeseen challenges impacting businesses. Council is committed to equipping local businesses and industries to navigate these challenges effectively" Dr Emonson said.
"This program provides business owners with practical tools and strategies to manage risks, establish contingency plans, and improve operational efficiency. By promoting sustainable practices, we aim to enhance long-term resilience for both businesses and individuals.
"Dr Burke's extensive background, ranging from her PhD in agronomy to her role as commercial manager for one of Australia's largest grain producers, makes her a trusted advisor in navigating the challenges businesses face in the agricultural sector. We encourage local business and industries to participate in this program and leverage Dr. Burke's invaluable experience and insights" .
In addition to the breakfast, attendees will get priority access to register for two Business Resilience Workshops in March.
These workshops will focus on cash flow management, business performance improvement, risk management planning, and building resilience for future challenges. These workshopswill be free to attend.
