The Tasmanian racing industry is critical for the State, generating close to $185 million value-added contribution to our economy.
This is why the Tasmanian Liberal Government continues to back the industry which involves almost 6000 people as employees, participants or volunteers, with nearly two thirds of these people based in regional or rural communities.

The recent IER report commissioned by Tasracing outlined that in 2018/19 that close to 100,000 people attend race meetings in Tasmania.
In 2018/19 it is estimated that the total expenditure generated by race goers was $12.7 million, $7.2 million was directly linked to off course expenditure including transport, accommodation and retail.
$4.7 million is spent annually on-course by race goers. This spend assists Tasmanian businesses like Frogmore Creek, Hubert & Dan catering and many others which are here today.
