Local Heritage Grants 2024/25: Applications Extended

Leeton Shire Council is pleased to announce applications for the Local Heritage Fund for the 2024/25 financial year have been extended until Tuesday, 15 October 2024.

This fund is designed to assist owners and lessees of significant land or heritage buildings with financial support for heritage projects.

Funding is available for a variety of work projects, including:

  • Repair or replacement of heritage façade details;
  • Painting of external facades;
  • Mandatory Building Code of Australia (BCA) works;
  • Installation of sympathetic advertising signage.

Council's Manager Planning, Building & Health, Francois Van Der Berg, emphasised the significance of preserving our heritage assets.

"Our heritage buildings are vital to the cultural and historical fabric of Leeton Shire. By preserving these structures, we not only honour our past but also enhance the character and charm of our towns and villages for years to come," he said.

Projects will be assessed based on the following selection criteria:

  • Public benefit;
  • Sustainable long-term heritage benefits;
  • Public enjoyment;
  • Alignment with Council priorities;
  • Capacity and commitment to undertake the project;
  • Value for money and cost effectiveness.
