Update: Police have located the 78-year-old man reported missing from Carindale deceased. The death is being treated as non-suspicious and police are preparing a report for the coroner.
Identifying details have been removed from the earlier release.
Earlier: Police have launched a search operation for missing 78-year-old man at Carindale.
He went missing at approximately 11pm on Tuesday July 18, and has not been seen or heard from since.
Police and State Emergency Service volunteers have this morning searched shopping centres and parkland areas in Carindale.
The operation included SES volunteers on the ground, as well as support from police officers and community members.
Residents with Carindale and surrounding areas are urged to review their CCTV and dashcam footage from Tuesday night, and to check their properties.
Anyone with information about the man's whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
