Queensland has recorded eight new cases today, with five locally acquired and most linked to existing clusters.
Heath Minister Yvette D'Ath said lockdown would lift as planned for the Brisbane and Moreton Bay areas.
"I want to thank everyone for following the restrictions that has meant we can lift the lockdown at 6pm tonight," she said.
"We are confident the situation is on track to containment, but we are not out of the woods yet.
"We have had five cases today, and there will be contact tracing locations added to the Queensland Health website throughout the day, so keep checking that list.
"And that's why restrictions will continue for 14 days, including mask wearing.
"I continue to urge everyone to check in everywhere you go that has a check in process, so our health experts can contact you quickly if they need to."
Queensland's Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said Brisbane and Moreton Bay would move to the same restrictions as other South East Queensland and Townsville LGAs.
"From 6pm tonight, those who have been in Brisbane and Moreton Bay will need to keep wearing masks, have limits on gatherings, and visits to vulnerable facilities will continue to be restricted," she said.
"We've had an abundance of testing in the last 24 hours, and only a few linked cases.
"Thank you to everyone for following the rules - I know these times are challenging but it has been critical for getting the situation under control so far.
"Please, anyone who has any symptom consistent with COVID-19, get tested as soon as possible and isolate until you get a negative result.
"Even a sniffle or a tickle in the throat - the best option is to get tested, just in case. The earlier we can detect cases, the better chance we have of containing the spread."
Today's cases are:
- three acquired overseas and detected in hotel quarantine
- three linked to the Four Points (Portuguese Restaurant) cluster (one announced yesterday afternoon)
- one worker at The Prince Charles Hospital
- one person who lives in Carindale and works at the Brisbane Airport (direct link pending)
