Lollypop Creek Community Centre Sweet Spot For Locals

A state-of-the-art community centre has officially opened in Werribee with recreational and kindergarten spaces catering for families in Melbourne's growing west, thanks to support from the Allan Labor Government.

Minister for Suburbs Sonya Kilkenny joined members of the local community to open the $10.5 million Lollypop Creek Community Centre.

The new community centre features kindergarten rooms, multipurpose community and meeting rooms, maternal and child health consulting suites, community kitchen and café, staff offices, accessible amenities and outdoor spaces.

It was designed to respond to the needs of the growing local community by providing an integrated family centre adjacent to open spaces and a retail precinct.

The Labor Government providing a total of $3.8 million to the project through the Growing Suburbs Fund and the Building Blocks Infrastructure Program. The centre was jointly funded by the Labor Government, Wyndham City Council and developers.

The Growing Suburbs Fund represents a $440 million Labor Government investment over 10 years and to date has provided more than $1.3 billion of critical local infrastructure in our fastest-growing suburbs.
