An Indooroopilly man is celebrating a life-changing $1.3 million Lotto win, just in time for the festive season. The thrilled Queenslander, who has been playing the same numbers for 50 years, was stunned to discover his newfound wealth.
After a lotto official reached out, the Brisbane resident only discovered his win that he was one of four Division One winners nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto Draw 4527 on 7 December 2024, each pocketing $1,258,663.69..
“Jesus Christ!” he exclaimed when his prize was revealed.
“Unbelievable! Absolutely unbelievable! B*gger me!
“It’s beautiful!
“I’ve been playing Lotto for 50 years just using the same numbers that are family birthdates, special occasions, football numbers and things like that. The best I’ve ever won is $3,000, but normally it’s $6 or $12.
“I still can’t believe it! This could give me a heart attack!
“What an early Christmas surprise! I might surprise a few people with this and go see the grandkids.
“I’m going to celebrate by sitting back and watching the cricket today. I might even have a look at a boat catalogue as I’d love to get one.
“This call has been better than anything I’d ever imagined.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4527 on 7 December 2024 were 1, 16, 11, 13, 35 and 7, while the supplementary numbers were 5 and 14.
