Police are appealing for public assistance to locate Luke Tones.
The 47-year-old Windsor man is wanted on warrant in relation to the theft of four Olympic medals in Docklands last week.
It is understood the medals were stolen from a vehicle parked on Cumberland Street between 9pm on Thursday 6 and 5am on Friday 7 September.
The medals belong to Olympic rowing champion, and member of The Oarsome Foursome, 49-year-old Drew Ginn.
Mr Ginn's vehicle was broken into and the offender made off with one silver and three gold medals from four consecutive Olympics, including his gold medal from Sydney 2000.
Mr Ginn's Olympic medals had been left in his car due to a speaking engagement at a school.
Other items stolen from the vehicle include a Rip Curl wetsuit, a Go Pro camera and Sony headphones.
Tones is known to frequent Richmond, Abbotsford, Collingwood and the Melbourne CBD.
Investigators have released an image of Tones in the hope that someone can provide information on his whereabouts.
He is Caucasian with a thin build, bald head and may have grey facial hair.
