Police have seized drugs, luxury vehicles, and cash after arresting two men over their alleged roles in a Sydney-based drug supply syndicate, NSW Police say.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad (MEOCS) established Strike Force Nymcoola to investigate large-scale supply of cocaine in Sydney’s south.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a 34-year-old man during a vehicle stop at Arncliffe just before 1.30pm yesterday (25 October 2017).
The Bexley man was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with large commercial drug supply, knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime, and participate in criminal group.
About 2.10pm, detectives arrested a 21-year-old man at a commercial premises at Double Bay.
The Kogarah man was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with large commercial drug supply, knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime, and participate in criminal group.
Both men were refused bail to appear at Sutherland and Waverley Local Courts today.
Shortly after the arrests, MEOCS officers, assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, executed three search warrants at homes at Arncliffe, Lewisham, and Rockdale.
Strike force detectives seized a BMW E90 series, a 2016 Lamborghini, a 2015 McLaren, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, banking documentation, various bank cards, passports, mobile phones, computers, laptops, and more than $70,000 cash.
Investigations under Strike Force Nymcoola are continuing and further arrests are expected.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to drug supply to call Crime Stoppers.
