Lydham Hall Open Days: Bayside

Historic Lydham Hall, one of the oldest homes in the St George area, is open to the public on the first Sunday of every month allowing members of the public to view the collection of antiques while learning more about this historic home.

Historic Lydham Hall is owned by Bayside Council and is also serves as home to the St George Historical Society.

This State heritage-listed building houses a wonderful collection of fine antiques and period objects including a large collection of items from the National Trust.

Lydham Hall is a sandstone villa that was built in the late 1870s for businessman Joseph Davis, his wife Ellen and their family.

Lydham Hall was also the home of noted naturalist David Stead and his daughter Christina. Christina Stead went on become a highly respected writer and references to the house and surrounding area features in several of her books and short stories.
