The M1 Pacific Motorway is closed northbound at Chinderah due to a two car crash near Dodds Road.
A medical helicopter is currently on site in the northbound lanes, with traffic being temporarily held.
Southbound lanes are open, however traffic is heavy in both directions.
Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time or consider an alternative route.
