Macedon Ranges police have put the brakes on a number of speedsters and drink drivers in the past week, Victoria Police say.
A 49-year-old Woodend woman had her car impounded for 30 days after returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.088 per cent this morning.
The driver, who was also found to be disqualified, was travelling south on Mount Macedon Road, Woodend, when she was nabbed by police about 10.30am.
She was charged with drink-driving and driving while disqualified and will face Kyneton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
A few hours later, a 32-year-old Koondrook man also lost his vehicle for 30 days after he was caught driving almost 60km/h over the speed limit in Taradale.
An unmarked police car detected the Ford ute allegedly driving at 157km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Calder Freeway.
He undertook a preliminary breath test and was taken to Kyneton Police Station, where he returned an evidentiary breath test of 0.113 per cent.
His car was impounded and he will face Kyneton Magistrates’ Court at a later date over charges including exceed speed limit, speed dangerous and drink driving.
