Wyndham Park, Werribee will be transformed into a glowing wonderland as LIT returns in March, with a fresh new program of stunning light installations to explore.
LIT a free light-based experience, presented by Wyndham City will open on 8 March and run over fourteen nights.
Wyndham City's Mayor Cr, Jennie Barrera said "This very popular event is back and will feature new artworks, extending into a larger area of the park that will ensure more people can experience the wonder of LIT."
"LIT is a family friendly experience for our community to enjoy. Last year in 2023, saw a record-breaking attendance of 61,722. With this year's program shaping up to be one of the best yet."
"We have also added additional dates along with a new Sensory Friendly Night on Tuesday 12 March that will provide an opportunity for visitors with sensory sensitivities and other needs to experience LIT in a more relaxed environment with reduced lighting and sound intensity" Cr Barrera said.
Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud encouraged residents to experience the magic of LIT.
"This year's program will feature Amigo & Amigo's incredible ChronoHarp - a giant harp-like structure that responds to touch with a glowing rainbow of colours and sounds, along with oversized, interactive Trumpet Flowers."
"Visitors will also be able to enjoy the breathtaking international artwork, Ursula Lassos the Moon by Studio Vertigo, where a giant glowing moon appears to have been plucked from the night sky to hover just above the ground."
"We're also thrilled to be working with local artist, Teeny Fletcher to create the pop surrealist dreamscape of Cosmic Reverie," Cr Mahfoud said.
Other highlights will include The Indirect Object's inflatable installation Bloom - filled with glowing gumnuts and flowers; Birdsong - a glimmering new nature trail from Skunk Control and Chalk River Lab's large-scale projections and spectacular Night Parrots.
LIT will be open on the weekend from 8pm to 11pm on Friday 8 March, Saturday 9 March and Sunday 10 March.
LIT will then run from 8pm to 11pm, Wednesdays to Sundays from 13 March until 24 March.
"With LIT located just a short stroll away from Watton Street - it's the perfect opportunity to make a night of it! Support local hospitality businesses and enjoy a vast array of fantastic dining options in Werribee." Cr Mahfoud said.
