Major Collision Unit investigate Laverton collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a car and motorbike in Laverton this morning.

Emergency services were called after a collision between a grey Toyota sedan and green Kawasaki motorbike on Dohertys Road about 6.20am.

The male rider, a 46-year-old from Altona, has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The car driver, a 38-year-old Tarneit man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. He is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

Detectives would especially like to speak to a truck driver who had been behind the motorcycle just prior to the collision.
