Major Crime Officer with the assistance of STAR Group and SES have today completed searching areas between Balaklava and Mallala over the last 4 days.
A total of 46 km's of road verge has been searched on foot and 67 km's by all-terrain vehicle. A further 22 identified locations have been examined and searched, but unfortunately the remains of Michael have not been located.
Major Crime are determined to locate the remains of Michael and return him to is family so he can be provided a dignified burial.
We are confident that we are searching the right area and we will reassess the areas searched and identify other areas that may require searching in the future.
