Cross Road is closed between Goodwood Road and Winston road due to a major gas leak at Cumberland Park.
Just before 12.50am Tuesday 15 February police attended Cross Road after reports of a gas leak caused by an excavator rupturing the mains.
Residents within a 100 square meter radius were evacuated.
The roads are expected to be closed for most of the day, please avoid the area if you can.
