It is also used a guide for industry and government when planning to host major sporting events in Australia.
The framework's main aims are to attract events which bring long lasting benefits to all Australians. These aims include:
- promoting gender equality
- building healthy communities
- showcasing Australia
- boosting the economy post-COVID
- achieving sporting success.
