Man and woman injured during home invasion at Bankstown

Investigations are underway following a home invasion in Bankstown overnight.

About 10.15pm (Thursday 13 August 2020), officers were called to Salvia Avenue following reports a man had been assaulted with a baseball bat.

On arrival officers found a man and woman inside the home suffering injuries. The man sustained a suspected fractured nose and arm, while the woman has a suspected fractured arm.

They were both taken to St George Hospital for treatment.

Detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command attended the scene and commenced inquiries. Officers have been told a group of men forced their way inside the home armed with baseball bats.

They assaulted the pair before fleeing the scene in a silver coloured car.

A crime scene has been established at the home as inquiries continue.

Early inquiries suggest this was a targeted attack.
