Man Arrested After Fatal Wentworthville Stabbing

A man has been arrested following a fatal stabbing at Wentworthville.

About 6:30am today (Thursday 24 October 2024), emergency services were called to a home on Layton Street, Wentworthville, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a 64-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended, however the man died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

A woman, aged 60, who was also at the property was not injured in the incident.

A 34-year-old man was arrested a short time later and taken to Granville Police Station.

All three people are believed to be known to each other.

Police have established a crime scene with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident ongoing.
