A man has been charged with high-range drinking driving after crashing his car into another vehicle and a boat trailer yesterday, NSW Police say.
Around 4.30pm (Sunday 21 January 2018), a 46-year-old man was driving a silver Holden Commodore ute on Old Northern Road heading north before hitting a black BMW X5 in the southbound lane.
The Holden continued travelling south and collided with a Toyota Hilux ute towing a boat trailer, causing the trailer to break and separate from the Toyota.
The boat was ejected from the trailer and was extensively damaged.
The 46-year-old man attempted to flee the scene but was located by Traffic and Highway Patrol officers from the Hawkesbury Local Area Command.
He was submitted to a roadside alcohol breath test which returned a positive reading.
He was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.241.
While in custody, police allegedly found 8.1 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis.
The man was charged with high-range PCA, possess prohibited drug and breach of bail.
He was bail refused to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Monday 22 January 2018).
