Four people have been arrested as part of an investigation into drugs being introduced into an Adelaide correctional facility.
Police Corrections detectives arrested a 38-year-old Noarlunga Downs man yesterday, Thursday 20 July, and charged him with three counts of trafficking in a controlled drug, introduce contraband into an institution and abuse of public office.
He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 4 October.
It will be alleged the man attempted to introduce a quantity of suboxone, amphetamine and cocaine into the Adelaide Remand Centre.
Following investigations, police searched a number of residences across the metropolitan area and made three additional arrests, all linked to current inmates.
A 20-year-old Woodville North woman was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled drug and possess a controlled drug for sale. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 4 October.
A 30-year-old Murray Bridge woman was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled drug and possess a controlled drug for sale. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 27 September.
A 28-year-old Prospect woman was charged with possess a controlled drug for sale. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 4 October.
Investigations are continuing and detectives have not ruled out further arrests.
