A man is being treated in hospital after being assaulted during a home invasion in Sydney's west overnight.
Emergency services were called to Ringrose Avenue at Greystanes about 11.15pm (Saturday 22 May 2021), following reports a granny flat was on fire.
Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a 45-year-old male resident suffering cuts, bruising and abrasions. He told police he was assaulted by three men who then set his flat alight.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. The flat sustained minor damage.
A crime scene has been established at the home and investigations are now underway.
