Man Charged After Assault: Police Transport Command

A man will face court following an alleged robbery and assault on a train in Sydney's north.

Just after 9.45pm on Tuesday (20 August 2024), police were called to Roseville Railway Station following reports of an alleged assault on a train.

Officers attached to Police Transport Command were told a 42-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by another man unknown to him on a train travelling towards Central Station.

It is believed the man also took cash from the 42-year-old man.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with nose and head injuries before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 1.40pm yesterday (Thursday 22 August 2024), police arrested a 45-year-old man at Hornsby Railway Station.

He was taken to Hornsby Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery with wounding/grievously bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court today (Friday 23 August 2024).
