Man Charged After Cannabis Hydroponic Find in Griffith

A man has been charged after an alleged cannabis hydroponic set-up was discovered in the state's south.

About 8.30am, yesterday (Thursday 31 October 2024), officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District executed a search at an abandoned business on Sidlow Road, Griffith.

Police seized ten cannabis plants and a hydroponic set up, from a shed on the property.

Officers established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Griffith Police Station. He was charged with cultivate prohibited plant and possess prohibited plant.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Griffith Local Court on (Wednesday 11 December 2024).

The plants were destroyed.
