Man Charged After Craigieburn Jewelry Heist

A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery at a jewellery store in Craigieburn earlier this week.

Officers were told two people entered a jewellery store inside a shopping centre on Craigieburn Road about 11.10am on 20 October.

It is alleged display cabinets were smashed with steel bars and jewellery items stolen, before two people fled the store on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.

Fawkner Divisional Response Unit detectives executed a search warrant in Heidelberg Heights this morning.

A 33-year-old Heidelberg Heights man has been charged with two counts of affray, two counts of theft, two counts of criminal damage, theft of motor vehicle, possess imitation firearm.

A second person who may be able to assist police with their investigation is yet to be identified and the investigation remains ongoing.
