A man will appear in court today after being charged for an alleged domestic violence offence in Sydney's south-west.
Yesterday (Tuesday 2 July 2024), officers attached to South West Metropolitan Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team, with assistance from Cumberland Police Area Command, commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged breach of AVO in the Merrylands area.
It was believed a man – well known to police for domestic violence offences - had allegedly cut off his electronic ankle bracelet and threatened a woman via a phone.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 44-year-old man at an address on Charles Street, Liverpool.
He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic) and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).
He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Wednesday 3 July 2024).
