Man Charged After Donvale Robbery During Sunday Stroll

Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged robbery in Donvale on Friday.

Police allege that a man walked into a retail store on Tunstall Road and made threats towards staff, demanding that they hand over money.

It is believed that staff allegedly handed over cash and the man fled the scene in a vehicle.

Investigators spotted a man, who they wished to speak to in relation to the incident, walking past the Doncaster Police Station this morning about 8am.

Detectives and Doncaster police officers swiftly arrested the man.

A 35-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with robbery, make threats to kill, make threats to injure and possess drug of dependence.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' court today.
