Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Caulfield North earlier this year.
It is alleged a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Lumeah and Balaclava roads about 12pm on Sunday, 25 February.
The pedestrian, a 94-year-old Caulfield North woman, died at the scene.
The driver, a 24-year-old Clyde North man, was interviewed by police and released pending further enquiries.
Investigators have since charged the man with dangerous driving causing death and careless driving.
He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 9 September.
