A man has been charged after he allegedly broke into a car yard and set it alight in Minchinbury this morning, NSW Police say.
About 7.30am today, police were called to a car yard on Carlisle Avenue, after a number of vehicles and an office were allegedly damaged.
On arrival, a fire was also found alight in the office. Fire & Rescue NSW officers attended and extinguished the blaze.
No one was injured; however, a cafe and one of the buildings in the premises were completely destroyed.
Officers from Mt Druitt Local Area Command attended and arrested a 42-year-old man. A search of the man resulted in police seizing a knife.
He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with break, enter and steal, break and enter with intent, damage property by fire, break and enter and possess knife in a public place.
The man was refused bail, to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
