Man Charged After Theft Spree in NW Victoria

A man has been charged following a spate of thefts across the north-west region over the past 12 months.

It is alleged the man stole more than $12k of liquor, meat and electronic goods in 15 separate incidents across Hadfield, Coburg and Mill Park.

The man was arrested in Coburg North after an extensive investigation by officers that included the assistance of retail partners.

A 46-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with theft, possess heroin, possess cannabis, attempted carjacking, assault police and traffic offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 11 October.

Police will continue to focus on disrupting theft and those profiting off the sale of stolen items from businesses across Victoria.
