Man Charged After Weapons Found in South Windsor Car

A man has been charged with 10 offences after several weapons were allegedly located inside a vehicle in Sydney's north west.

About 3am today (Saturday 25 January 2025) officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command's Proactive Crime Team were conducting patrols in South Windsor when they observed a utility with registration plates that allegedly did not match the vehicle.

Police stopped the vehicle and, following a search, several weapons and items of interest were located and seized.

The driver of the vehicle – a 25-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station, where he was charged with 10 offences:

  • Armed with intent commit indictable offence,
  • Custody of knife in public place,
  • Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen,
  • Have custody of an offensive implement in a public place,
  • Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period,
  • Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road,
  • Use uninsured motor vehicle on road,
  • Use vehicle on road or road related area motor vehicle tax not paid,
  • Unlawfully possess number plates, and
  • Use registrable vehicle not display authorised number plates.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 25 January 2025).
