Man charged after woman struck by car in Busby

Police have charged a man after a woman was allegedly struck by a car in Sydney’s south west overnight.

About 11pm today, emergency services were called to Kinkuna Street, Busby, after reports a woman had been hit by a Toyota Landcruiser.

Police have been told the woman, aged 50, was struck after the 4WD drove onto the footpath trapping her between it and a Subaru Forrester, NSW Police say.

Investigators from Green Valley Local Area Command will allege the driver then reversed the 4WD and drove to nearby Bolinda Street, where the vehicle mounted the gutter, struck a fence and another stationary vehicle.

The driver of the 4WD, a 46-year-old man, was arrested a short time later and taken to Green Valley Police Station.

The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

She will require surgery for compound fractures to her legs a fractured pelvis and lacerations to her head.

It is believed that the crash is the result of an ongoing dispute.

The man was later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, and drive whilst disqualified.

He has been refused bail and is expected to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.

Inquiries continue.
