Man Charged After Woman Thrown From Balcony

A man has been charged following an investigation where a woman was seriously injured after allegedly being thrown from a balcony in Sydney's west.

About 7.50pm on Sunday 2 March 2025, emergency services were called to Arthur Street, Merrylands West, following reports of a concern for welfare.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene before taking her to hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries by Cumberland detectives, about 9.00am today (Wednesday 5 March 2025), police arrested a 34-year-old man at a unit in McGirr Parade, Warwick Farm.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with three offences - breaching an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order, intentionally choke person with recklessness, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

The man was refused police bail and will appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 5 March 2025
