Man charged following Sunshine North homicide

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 32-year-old man following the death of a woman in Sunshine North last night, Victoria Police say.

It’s alleged the 42-year-old woman received a gunshot wound at a Romsey Avenue home in St Albans about 9.10pm.

She was allegedly dropped at the emergency department of a Sunshine hospital where she later died.

The driver was also allegedly involved in a number of collisions and a carjacking

on Furlong Road, near the Western Ring Road off ramp, shortly after 9.20pm.

The St Albans man has been charged with murder, carjacking, attempted carjacking, robbery, attempted robbery, conduct endangering person and prohibited person possess firearm.

He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
